    Summary

    • For some e-reader users, Boox’s Go Color 7 can be too complex and versatile.

    • Its slow startup time makes it frustrating to read e-books quickly.

    • The Kobo application on Go Color 7 lacks several optimization features.

Now I’ve introduced what I like Boox’s Go Color 7 It’s time for E-Ink Level Board to sneak into something I hate about e-readers.

Don’t get me wrong, the Go Color 7 is a solid, powerful device that looks and feels better than any e-reader I’ve ever used, but when it actually uses it as a reading device, I realized I don’t need an E-Ink Level Board to do it all. As long as my e-reader quickly accesses the library of my choice, offers solid battery life, and feels good, I will sell it – sometimes the single-use technical equipment is really better.

With that in mind, over the past few weeks, I have noticed that the Go Color 7 has many notable drawbacks that I don’t mention often, including the complexity of the e-ink level board, its startup time, and its useful application optimization features are not suitable for the fact that it is related to it. Kebo Application, a platform that I mainly use for reading books.

If you want to customize your device, you’ll find a lot about Boox’s Go Color 7.

I don’t need Android when it comes to e-readers

    Too complicated

    Boox Go Color 7 Android

While I initially appreciated the fact that Go Color 7 was based on Android, after forcing myself to test various apps (mostly Google Keep), I found that I prefer Kobo’s dedicated design for Libra colors. Of course, I can’t use Google Keep or Gmail on Libra colors, but I don’t need it.

When I pick up the e-reader, I just want to read and do nothing. I have one iPhone 16 Pro and Various iPads float Used to use more traditional applications. Of course, some people may prefer an Android-powered E-ink reader because they want to do more than just read books or save articles, but that’s not me. During the weeks I tested the Go Color 7, I was tired of how the janky app was used on an e-in-level tablet and ended up stopping using them altogether. Of course, that lag created a barrier that prevented me from being destined to roll, but it also led me to reach for the Libra color

Anyway, you look at it, the ROG Ally X’s battery is pretty bad – but with these tips you can improve it.

It takes too long to actually read

Sometimes it can take several minutes to actually open a bookBoox Go Station

One of my biggest problems with the Go Color 7 in Boox is that it can sometimes take a minute or more to get the E-Ink Level Board out of sleep mode while actually reading books, while my Kobo boots aren’t in sleep mode in just a few seconds (I have a similar Kindle device experience as well).

This may sound like a small complaint, but when I just want to read for a few minutes to kill a short period of time, that minute-long startup process is like a frustrating eternity. In one case, I just picked up the Libra color to read, and the GO color 7 booted up, never bothering back to the Boox device. Seriously, it takes a long time to get up and running even from its low power state, and then I had to put in my password (you can’t turn off the feature) and start the Kobo or Pocket (RIP) application, which adds more time.

    Kobo application cannot be optimized

This is more of Kobo, but still frustratingKobo App 7 on Boox Go Color

Of course, this might be a “me” issue, but the fact that Go Color 7 works with Kobo Android apps is both blessing and frustrating. It allows me to easily access the same library I’ve used for years (this is something you can’t do easily in Amazon’s Kindle library), but the app feels very limited.

Even though I chose to turn the page, unfortunately the side button of the Boox Color 7 still controls the volume of the tablet.

First, you can’t remove the huge spacing at the edges of the page, which is frustrating because I’m used to adjusting it on the Libra color. That said, thank you for still being able to resize the text and select from several different fonts. Still, the page looks weird when it comes to narrow text in the middle, especially when the font is larger.

Additionally, many of the best APP-specific BOOX features are incompatible with Kobo apps, including the ability to customize the buttons of GO Color 7, and seem to not work properly. If you do long pressure on the application icon and select “Optimize”, you are given a set of options. Next, flip to Othersyou will see Custom side buttonsinclude Turn the page,,,,, volumeand scroll. Even though I chose to turn the page, unfortunately the side button of the Boox Color 7 still controls the volume of the tablet.

I like Boox’s Go Color 7, but I realized I don’t need the versatility it provides when it comes to e-readers. Others will find these Android-powered features useful, but I have several other devices that fill the character for me (including my smartphone) – all I want is an E-ink device designed for reading.
