As its name suggests, this familiar form factor has been shrunk to about 4 inches (105 mm) in diameter and 1.9 inches (48 mm) thick, making it easier to fit in a pocket or small bag. The Miniroll weighs 9.8 ounces (279 grams) and still comes with a built-in strap that can be used to secure it to items like bags and belt loops. Ultimate Ears also says the speaker is “drop-proof” up to about 47 inches (1.2 meters) and is rated IP67 for dust and water resistance, which means it can withstand being submerged for up to 30 minutes.
The Miniroll is rechargeable via USB-C, and the company claims the battery life is up to 12 hours. The Bluetooth range is up to 40 meters, unless you add things like walls. There’s also a “PartyUp” feature that can pair multiple Miniroll speakers together for more volume, but it doesn’t support connecting to the company’s Boom-branded speakers.
