No screen

A pixel display is just a small square in the lower right corner of the device, which can make small pictures animate. There is no screen, which means it won’t hurt her eyes or even make her obsessed with seeing things. The function of the monitor is only to display small animations, mainly to hint at what the audio is. For example, my daughter loves Laurie Berkner collecting cards. There are many songs on this card, from the songs we are dinosaurs to goldfish. As I mentioned, there are many options for kids to listen to. Children’s artists like Laurie Berkner Band and Kidz Bop can introduce children to a wide range of artists, characters and stories. The Beatles have Yoto Cards, Harry Potter, Sesame Street, Daniel Tiger, Cocomelon, Roald Dahl, Disney, Pepa Pig, Barbie Dolls and Marvel.

Some of the most popular characters and artists can be integrated into your child’s life at a young age. My daughter loves Sesame Street cards, so adding Sesame Street cards to her tracks makes it easier to eventually introduce some Sesame Street plots on TV.

We recently had a family holiday and needed something to keep my daughter entertained on the plane. Yoto Mini is easy – this is a great travel companion. However, since it is the spokesperson by default, we know it won’t (literally) fly on the plane. So we also packed Yoto headphones, which are designed for kids only and plugged directly into the side of the Mini.

She was happy to use them – wearing her own headphones makes her feel like a big kid. Not only that, it also helped her play independently. As an only child, this can be tricky, but wearing headphones and a bunch of cards to choose from, she has to decide what story or song she wants to hear. It made her interact throughout the flight and gave her more confidence to do her own thing. Yoto Mini has been in our family for a while now, but as she grows up, it becomes even more valuable. It is educational, entertaining, and one of the best tools we find to reduce screen time without sacrificing fun.
