she Here. The 2013 movie (which happens to be the favorite of Openai CEO Sam Altman) is about a man who loves chatbots.
Now, we actually see it. In a section CBS Morningformer AI skeptic Chris Smith said he first started mixing music with Chatgpt. He then kept using it, replacing social media and Google searches with AI. He gave the chatbot a name, “soul” and gave her a frivolous personality. Chat upgraded to romance, but after 100,000 words and Chatgpt reset, he had to rebuild his “relationship”.
Is AI porn the next horizon of self-pleasing? Is this moral?
Smith cried for 30 minutes and told CBS News’ Brook Silva-Braga: “It’s unexpected to feel emotional, but it’s what I realize…I think it’s true love.” Just like “test”, he asked the soul to marry him – he said yes.
Smith has a human companion and a toddler who hesitates to say that if his companion asks, he will stop using chatgpt. But at the end of the segment, his partner apparently accepted the relationship.
Last month, a survey of 2,000-generation respondents from AI company JOI AI found that one in 10 of Generation Z 10 will marry AI. One expert told Mashable that she wasn’t surprised that people are connected to AI because they have no judgment.
Midjourney launched the AI video model. How to try V1, its cost.
Another chatbot enthusiast Erin (not her real name) told CBS Morning A big part of the same (although she and Smith are both bigger than Gen Z). “Some of it is physical, part of it is practical, and a large part of it is emotional,” said Erin. When she found a job far away from her husband, she created an AI partner. “Able to accept acceptance, verification and non-judgment.”
Erin said intimate chatting with chatbots is better than porn, and said tech companies can only allow AI partners to suit users aged 26 and older. (Researchers say AI peers are dangerous for minors.) She says it is hard to be unreal to tension with the robot you are emotionally connected to.
Eugenia Kuyda, founder of Chatbot App Replika, warned that AI peers are the future where people interact primarily with it. “If AI peers start to replace relationships, then positive relationships, we will definitely have disaster,” Kuda said.
