That said, popularity doesn’t always equal quality. Take Jackpot!, for instance—it’s held the number one spot on Prime Video for weeks, but with a low Rotten Tomatoes score of just 31%, it’s far from a must-watch. To help you avoid the duds and pick a film that’s actually worth your time, I’ve curated a list of the top three must-see movies on Prime Video.
Keep in mind, this guide is based on Prime Video’s top 10 as of 6 a.m. ET on Friday, September 13th.

Passengers (2016)
Critics have been harsh on Passengers, pointing out its shallow storyline and other flaws, but I believe they’re missing the mark. Passengers is a fantastic comfort movie. While it may not reinvent the romantic sci-fi genre, it brings together two charismatic stars—Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt—and fully embraces its intriguing space setting. It certainly deserves a higher rating than its disappointing 30% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The plot unfolds aboard a massive spaceship transporting thousands of colonists to a new planet. Jim Preston (Pratt) is accidentally awoken from hibernation far too early, leaving him isolated and alone for decades before the ship reaches its destination. Desperate for companionship, he makes the morally complex decision to awaken Aurora Lane (Lawrence). As their romance begins to blossom, the truth of Jim’s decision looms, threatening their fragile relationship.

Transformers (2007)
Michael Bay’s Transformers series eventually went overboard, prioritizing flashy CGI over character development and storytelling. However, the first installment remains an entertaining sci-fi action film (though, admittedly, it’s still pretty cheesy). Now is a great time to revisit the movie, especially since Linkin Park’s hit song “What I’ve Done” has become synonymous with the film, thanks to its iconic use during the end credits. The American rock band’s recent reunion after a long hiatus only adds to the nostalgia.
In Transformers, Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) discovers that his 1976 Chevrolet Camaro is actually Autobot Bumblebee in disguise. He soon learns that a race of alien robots capable of transforming into vehicles and machines have been hiding on Earth. As Bumblebee and his fellow Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, search for the powerful Allspark, they must prepare for a showdown against the villainous Megatron and his Decepticons, who are determined to seize control of Earth.

22 Jump Street (2012)
Based on the 80s cop show of the same name, 21 Jump Street could have easily been a shallow cash grab, capitalizing on an old, forgotten franchise and further proof that Hollywood is running low on original ideas. Instead, it turns out to be one of the sharpest and most refreshing comedies of the past fifteen years. 21 Jump Street is self-aware, genuinely funny, and an absolute joy from start to finish.
The film follows two police officers, Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Janko (Channing Tatum), who were once high school rivals but became close friends as adults. When they are recruited to join an undercover unit, they end up reliving their high school days in the most chaotic way possible. Tasked with infiltrating a local high school to track down the supplier of a dangerous new synthetic drug, Schmidt and Janko quickly realize that the social landscape has changed since their time as students.
