- The duel between Eve and John Wick was also “an incredible day”
From John Wick’s World: BallerinaThe director reveals which battle sequence is the most challenging of the film.
Before talking to Techradar Ballet dancerWith the June 6 release, Len Wiseman admitted that one of the toughest moments in the entire shooting was something viewers wouldn’t expect.
Complete spoiler follow immediately For the thriller led by Ana de Armas. Do not continue unless you watch it.
Well, which kit causes the most headaches? This has nothing to do with the deadly burner sequence in Act III. Act 1’s nightclub Brawl is a classic staple in the John Wick film series, and it is not as taxed as Wiseman thought of.
According to the filmmaker behind the new movie in June 2025, the most difficult moment is part of an Alpine-style restaurant showdown between Eve Macarro of De Armas and members of the cult led by Principal Gabriel Byrne. Is the reason so challenging? Eve and her companion fighters attacked each other in a giggle sequence, the dishes kept breaking when they shouldn’t be.
Wiseman told me: “The fighting in the restaurant is my favorite because there are a lot of important story beats that are landing and the shooting is very interesting.”
“But the board sequences are one of the toughest moments to shoot. They are off the board, so they have a job [to break upon impact without hurting the actors]they did a great job.
“The problem is, when you pick them up, they immediately crash. [the actors] Had to pick up each person delicately and then use real strength to knock them down the opponent. The number of times they grab the plates, they will break…I lost the number of times we had to stick them together. I remember the props department asked me if I was enough for 100 plates and I said “yes”. Well, we’ve browsed all 100 plates several times, so you can imagine what state they are in when they’re done! ”
Understandably, each action sequence in the fourth John Wick movie (in chronological order anyway – read my John Wick movie for a guide for more details) comes with its own challenges. These include a one-on-one between Eve and Keanu Reeves’ iconic killer who happens to Ballet dancerThe last scene.
“It was an incredible day,” Wiseman said.
“It’s a really fun and tense moment in the movie, but we’re very clear that we need to make sure the battle is balanced. John Wick is the so-called Baba Yaga, and although he’s more experienced and skilled than Eve, we don’t want her to feel her work in her own films and his work doesn’t fit in her own way, not to show it in her own battle. A battle with meaning.”
